KLATEN – The peak of the Twin Temple Festival in Bugisan Village, Prambanan, Klaten, on Saturday [23/5/2026], served as a moment to strengthen interfaith harmony that will be brought to the international level. The message of peace from Plaosan Temple is planned to become part of the agenda for International Harmony Week in Manado, October 2026.
Chairman of the Indonesian FKUB Association, Ida Pangelingsir Agung Putra Sukahet, stated that the festival is a tangible manifestation of the historical values of Plaosan Temple, which uphold harmony and peace.
“This Twin Temple Festival is an expression of the history of Plaosan Temple, showing that harmony and peace exist for the world,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Executive Committee for International Harmony Week in Manado, Evans Steven Liow, http://S.Sos., M.M., who attended the Twin Temple Festival in person, expressed his high appreciation.
According to him, the spirit of tolerance that has lived in Prambanan since the 9th century remains relevant for strengthening global harmony.
“This festival is an important moment to strengthen harmony and spread a message of peace for the world. We will carry this value to International Harmony Week in Manado this October,” Evans said.
The Twin Temple Festival itself showcased a blend of culture, history, and interfaith harmony. The series of events concluded with the rebutan gunungan tradition, a symbol of sharing blessings and togetherness regardless of background.
The committee hopes that the message of harmony from Klaten will inspire peacebuilding efforts at both the national and international levels.
